มฟล. สร้างผลกระทบทางสังคมด้วยงานวิจัยสมุนไพรไทย “เหงือกปลาหมอดอกขาว” สู่เครื่องสำอางธรรมชาติ
มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง (มฟล.) โดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.มยุรี กันยะวัฒนะกุล อาจารย์ประจำสำนักวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์เครื่องสำอาง เจ้าของผลงานวิจัย “การเตรียมสารสกัดใบเหงือกปลาหมอดอกขาวเพื่อประยุกต์ใช้ในเครื่องสำอางสำหรับผิว” ประสบความสำเร็จในการสร้างผลิตภัณฑ์ต้นแบบในกลุ่มครีมบำรุงผิวจากธรรมชาติ พร้อมถ่ายทอดเทคโนโลยีให้กับผู้ประกอบการในชุมชน นำไปสู่การพัฒนาสินค้าใหม่ที่ปลอดภัยและใช้วัตถุดิบสมุนไพรท้องถิ่น
โครงการนี้ได้รับ ทุน Fundamental Fund ประเภท Basic Research ประจำปีงบประมาณ พ.ศ. 2565 จาก สำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม (สกสว.) เพื่อใช้ในการดำเนินงานวิจัยและการประเมินผลตอบแทนทางสังคม (Social Return on Investment: SROI) ซึ่งผลการประเมินอยู่ที่ 1.22 เท่า สะท้อนถึงประโยชน์ที่เกิดขึ้นในระดับชุมชนและสังคมจากทุก 1 บาทที่ลงทุน สามารถสร้างคุณค่าให้กลับคืนได้ถึง 1.22 บาท
โครงการดำเนินงานร่วมกับศูนย์ส่งเสริมสุขภาพและวิจัยผลิตภัณฑ์สมุนไพรของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง และชุมชนบ้านใหม่พัฒนา อำเภอแม่สาย จังหวัดเชียงราย ในการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้และสร้างนวัตกรรมสมุนไพรที่ต่อยอดได้จริง
ผลงานนี้ยังสามารถจดอนุสิทธิบัตรได้ถึง 2 ผลงาน และอยู่ระหว่างการเจรจาร่วมทุนกับภาคเอกชน สะท้อนถึงศักยภาพของนักวิจัยไทยในการพัฒนาเครื่องสำอางจากธรรมชาติให้แข่งขันได้ในระดับสากล พร้อมทั้งมีแผนตีพิมพ์ผลงานวิจัยในวารสารวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ Q1 จำนวน 2 ฉบับ
งานวิจัยดังกล่าวยังสอดคล้องกับเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (SDGs) ได้แก่
SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being: ส่งเสริมการใช้ผลิตภัณฑ์เพื่อสุขภาพจากธรรมชาติ
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: สนับสนุนการจ้างงานและสร้างรายได้ในชุมชนผ่านพืชสมุนไพร
SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production: ผลิตภัณฑ์จากสมุนไพรท้องถิ่นที่เน้นความยั่งยืนและความปลอดภัย
มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงยังคงมุ่งมั่นในการขับเคลื่อนวิจัยสู่การใช้ประโยชน์ในเชิงเศรษฐกิจและสังคม ตามวิสัยทัศน์ “Well-being and Sustainable Future” เพื่อยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของคนไทยอย่างยั่งยืน

MFU Creates Social Impact Through Herbal Skincare Innovation from “Clerodendrum paniculatum”
Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), through the research work led by Associate Professor Dr. Mayuree Kanlayavattanakul from the School of Cosmetic Science, has achieved notable success in developing a prototype herbal skincare product derived from the leaves of Clerodendrum paniculatum. This innovation has been further transferred to local herbal product entrepreneurs in Ban Mai Pattana Community, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province, in collaboration with MFU's Center for Health Promotion and Herbal Product Research.
The project received support from the Fundamental Fund (Basic Research), Fiscal Year 2022, provided by the Office of the National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO). The funding supported both the research implementation and a Social Return on Investment (SROI) assessment, which yielded a result of 1.22. This means that every 1 Baht invested in the project generates 1.22 Baht in social value — demonstrating tangible community and societal benefits.
The research resulted in a natural skincare cream prototype that has passed initial safety tests. It also led to two petty patents and has attracted interest from private companies seeking to license the intellectual property. Furthermore, two international Q1 journal articles are expected to be published from the project outcomes.
