มฟล. คว้า Bronze Award บนเวที Thailand Research Expo 2026 ตอกย้ำพลังวิจัยสร้างความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีและอนาคตที่ยั่งยืน

วันที่ 26 มิถุนายน 2569 ซึ่งเป็นวันสุดท้ายของงาน มหกรรมงานวิจัยแห่งชาติ 2569 (Thailand Research Expo 2026) ณ โรงแรมเซ็นทารา แกรนด์ และบางกอกคอนเวนชันเซ็นเตอร์ เซ็นทรัลเวิลด์ กรุงเทพมหานคร มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง สร้างความภาคภูมิใจด้วยการคว้ารางวัล Bronze Award จากการประกวดผลงานนิทรรศการงานวิจัย โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก ดร.วิภารัตน์ ดีอ่อง ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานการวิจัยแห่งชาติ (วช.) เป็นผู้มอบรางวัลในพิธีปิดงาน

ผลงานที่ได้รับรางวัลคือ “นิเวศปัญญาชุมชนชาติพันธุ์เพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อมที่ยั่งยืน” โดย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สุวิชาน พัฒนาไพรวัลย์ อาจารย์ประจำสำนักวิชาศิลปศาสตร์ และหัวหน้าหน่วยวิจัยนิเวศปัญญาชาติพันธุ์และชนพื้นเมืองเพื่อการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน ซึ่งนำเสนอแนวคิดสำคัญว่า “ประเทศไทยไม่ได้ล้มเหลวในการดับไฟป่า แต่ล้มเหลวในการเข้าใจไฟ” ผ่านการบูรณาการภูมิปัญญาของชุมชนชาติพันธุ์ร่วมกับองค์ความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์ ภายใต้แนวคิด Indigenous Fire Stewardship จนสามารถลดจุดความร้อน (Hotspot) ได้ร้อยละ 67.2 ครอบคลุมพื้นที่กว่า 49,000 ไร่ ใน 27 ชุมชน จังหวัดเชียงราย และสร้างผลตอบแทนทางสังคม (Social Return on Investment: SROI) สูงถึง 1 : 5.02

ความสำเร็จของงานวิจัยชิ้นนี้สะท้อนบทบาทของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงในการใช้ความรู้และนวัตกรรมเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชน ควบคู่กับการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม อันสอดคล้องกับวิสัยทัศน์ของมหาวิทยาลัยในการมุ่งสู่ “Well-being and Sustainable Future” โดยสร้างสมดุลระหว่างคน ชุมชน และธรรมชาติ ผ่านงานวิจัยที่สามารถนำไปใช้ประโยชน์ได้จริง และสร้างผลกระทบเชิงบวกต่อเศรษฐกิจ สังคม และสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างยั่งยืน

ตลอดระยะเวลา 5 วันของการจัดงาน บูธนิทรรศการของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง (EL7) ได้รับความสนใจอย่างต่อเนื่องจากผู้บริหารระดับประเทศ ผู้แทนหน่วยงานด้านการวิจัย นักวิชาการ และภาคีเครือข่ายจากหลากหลายภาคส่วน สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพของมหาวิทยาลัยในการสร้างงานวิจัยที่ตอบโจทย์ประเทศ และเป็นตัวอย่างของการบูรณาการองค์ความรู้จากมหาวิทยาลัยสู่การพัฒนาพื้นที่อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม ภายใต้แนวคิด Research Synergy ที่เชื่อมโยงความร่วมมือระหว่างนักวิจัย ชุมชน และภาคีเครือข่าย เพื่อร่วมกันสร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ยั่งยืน

รางวัล Bronze Award ในครั้งนี้ นับเป็นอีกหนึ่งความสำเร็จสำคัญของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงบนเวทีวิจัยระดับประเทศ และเป็นบทพิสูจน์ว่า งานวิจัยที่เริ่มต้นจากการรับฟังชุมชน การเคารพภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่น และการผสานองค์ความรู้ทางวิชาการ สามารถสร้างผลลัพธ์ที่เป็นรูปธรรมทั้งในระดับพื้นที่และระดับนโยบาย พร้อมทั้งเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการพัฒนาศูนย์จัดการทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมของมหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อขยายผลองค์ความรู้และนวัตกรรมสู่การสร้างความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีของประชาชน และอนาคตที่ยั่งยืนของสังคมไทย

จากผลงานนิทรรศการงานวิจัยที่ส่งเข้าประกวดจากกว่า 127 หน่วยงานทั่วประเทศ มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงสามารถคว้ารางวัล Bronze Award ได้สำเร็จ สะท้อนถึงศักยภาพของมหาวิทยาลัยในการผลิตงานวิจัยที่มีคุณภาพ สามารถสร้างผลลัพธ์ที่เป็นรูปธรรมต่อสังคม สิ่งแวดล้อม และชุมชน อันสอดคล้องกับวิสัยทัศน์ของมหาวิทยาลัยในการมุ่งสร้าง Well-being and Sustainable Future ผ่านการวิจัยและนวัตกรรมที่ตอบโจทย์การพัฒนาประเทศอย่างยั่งยืน อีกทั้งเป็นถ้วยรางวัลที่ 5 ของมหาวิทยาลัย

Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) has earned national recognition by winning the Bronze Award in the Thailand Research Expo 2026. The annual research exhibition and competition was held from 22 - 26 June 2026 at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre, CentralWorld, Bangkok. The award was presented on 26 June, the final day of the event, by Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), during the closing ceremony.

The winning project, "Ethno-Ecological Wisdom for Sustainable Environment," was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Suwichan Phatthanaphraiwan, a lecturer and a researcher from the Research Unit for Indigenous and Ethno-Ecological Wisdom for Sustainable Development (RIEW-SD) at the School of Liberal Arts. The project presented the core message that, “Thailand has not failed to extinguish forest fires, but has failed to understand fire.”

By integrating ethnic community wisdom with scientific knowledge under the concept of Indigenous Fire Stewardship, the research achieved a 67.2% reduction in hotspot incidents across more than 49,000 rai of land in 27 communities in Chiang Rai province, generating a Social Return on Investment (SROI) of 1:5.02.

This achievement reflects MFU's role in using knowledge and innovation as tools to improve the quality of life while conserving natural resources and the environment. It aligns with the university's vision of striving for "Well-being and a Sustainable Future", balancing people, communities, and nature through practical research that create a sustainable, positive impact on economics, society, and environment.

Over the five days of the exhibition, MFU's booth drew sustained interest from national-level executives, research agency representatives, academics, and network partners from diverse sectors. This impressive interest reflected MFU’s potential to produce research that meets national needs, exemplifying the integration of university knowledge into tangible regional development under the concept of “Research Synergy”. This concept focuses on fostering cooperation among researchers, communities, and networks to co-create sustainable change.

Notable visitors included:

• Prof. Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, along with ministry executives and representatives from Program Management Units (PMUs); 
• Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of NRCT, who exchanged views and offered recommendations on translating the research into policy-level applications; 
• Representatives from the Community Children Foundation (CCF) Under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who discussed potential collaboration on community development and quality of life initiatives.

Competing against entries from more than 127 organisations nationwide, MFU's Bronze Award highlights the university's capacity to produce high-quality research with tangible benefits for society, the environment, and local communities. This marks the university's fifth award trophy granted from the Thailand Research Expo and reaffirms its commitment to research and innovation that supports sustainable national development.

In addition, the NRCT presented MFU with a plaque of appreciation in recognition of the university's role in showcasing research and supporting the Thailand Research Expo 2026. This highlighs MFU’s ongoing contribution to advancing the country's research and innovation system through knowledge creation, public dissemination, and the practical application of research for sustainable national development.
