The Biomedical Technology Research Group for Vulnerable Populations (BIOMED) is dedicated to advancing biomedical knowledge, technologies, and innovations to sustainably improve the quality of life of vulnerable populations. The Research Group integrates multidisciplinary expertise from researchers at the School of Health Science and the School of Medicine, Mae Fah Luang University. Its collective expertise encompasses parasitology, microbiology, biotechnology, natural products, medical technology, cell biology, biophysics, molecular genetics, hematology, epidemiology, medical entomology, clinical product development and trials, pharmacogenomics, and microbiomics.

The Research Group primarily aims to advance biomedical technology research that addresses the health needs and challenges of vulnerable populations. In parallel, it seeks to strengthen research capacity by developing highly qualified researchers with specialized expertise, establishing and expanding collaborative research networks with national and international institutions, and enhancing the research capabilities of academic staff to support the development of graduates with strong research competencies. Furthermore, BIOMED is committed to increasing the number and quality of research publications in internationally recognized journals and expanding its research collaborations, thereby contributing to the academic reputation, research excellence, and international ranking of Mae Fah Luang University.
